Get to Know Me

My greatest passion in life are my two grown daughters and their families! I have four grandchildren who all live close by and I am blessed to be able to share in their activities. I share a home with my partner of 24 years and enjoy gardening and maintaining a daily fitness routine.

Becoming a Therapist

My journey to becoming a therapist began when I experienced therapy as a client over thirty years ago and was encouraged by my then therapist to pursue the profession. As I later discovered, therapy is what I feel I was born to do!

I believe that effective therapy should eventually lead to self-actualization.  Therapy is successful when clients feel that they have gained the knowledge of themselves to better understand their mind and mood, and that they have the tools necessary to move through life knowing they can handle what comes at them.

Why I Love This Work

First and foremost, I love creating an environment where a client can feel at ease to talk about anything going on in their mind/life and know that information is being received without judgement. Secondly, I enjoy discovering and outlining with a client how therapy can challenge and enhance their thought process. Finally, I feel privileged to be an encourager and accountability partner in their new path forward.
